Located in the idyllic Cotswold town of Moreton-in-Marsh, Total Home Environment is currently seeking a Design & Technical Support Engineer to join our small but growing team. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in the development of sustainable design for the future of construction.

JOB ROLE: Design & Technical Support Engineer

type: full-time, permanent, Monday-Friday

core tasks:

  • design mechanical ventilation systems for energy efficient and Passivhaus residential buildings using MagiCAD, an AutoCAD extension
  • measuring-off architectural drawings in preparation for room-by-room heat loss appraisals, SAP reports and MCS certification
  • undertake outline schematic designs for costing estimations
  • attend site visits when required to examine projects and determine optimum integration of our systems into the design proposals
  • provide customer support to architects, developers and self-builders; particularly regarding their design requirements and constraints
  • develop relationships with existing clients through technical design support

technical requirements:

  • computer literacy with Autodesk AutoCAD experience essential (MagiCAD not essential as full training will be given)
  • technical aptitude to perceive and work within two and three-dimensional ventilation system designs

JOB ROLE: Technical Support & Service Engineer

type: full-time, permanent, Monday-Friday

core tasks:

  • site surveys and site meetings
  • provide technical support to clients and internal team
  • perform service and fault repair work on MVHR/HPV (Heat Pump Ventilation), Air-to-Water Heat pumps, ASHP's and Central vacuums
  • liaison with site management and clients
  • occasional on-site installation, including ductwork cutting and assembly, using range of tools to perform tasks
  • interpretation of site and system design plans as required
  • commisioning of systems to prevalent standards
  • complete and submit accurate, timely documentation from each job
  • assistance with exhibition setup and break down and other office/field-based tasks as they arise
  • UK wide travel

technical requirements:

  • air-conditioning / HVAC experience
  • refrigeration experience & qualification desirable
  • plumbing experience & qualification desirable
  • customer-facing field role experience
  • CSCS card holder
  • Full UK driving licence
